Mosquitoes? What Mosquitoes??

You folks who have visited Lui in the past warned us quite clearly about the pestilence of mosquitoes. Well, guess what? At the time we visited (late Feb.-early March) there were no mosquitoes. We visited Lui in the depths of the dry season -- in what was for them an unparalleled drought -- so there was no mosquito problem. Thanks be to God!! We all had our mosquito nets, but we didn't need them desperately -- only for protection against little nuisance flying bugs at night.

This reminds me of one of Deborah's admonitions -- that all of us who visit Lui will be like the blind men assessing the elephant -- one sensing this and one sensing that. Our experiences will be different, depending on the time of year when we visit, and on a thousand other things that we may or may not be attuned to. Apparently, the question of whether it's the rainy season or the dry season is one of those things.
